First night nerves.....

....we had a few, who wouldn't on a new venture like this?! But Tuesday evening was a great success and a fun time was had by all, especially the new 15 Devonstar Twirlers. Our aim now over the coming weeks is to introduce the basic elements of baton twirling including marching, commands, dance steps and of course twirling!

Don't worry if you missed the first night, anyone can join at anytime and we'd love to see some more faces. All details are available in the links to the right. Happy Twirling!

Meet Your Trainers..........

Liz Prout

I started twirling aged 8 with the Starlite Twirling Troupe based in St. Budeaux .. From the first night I was completely hooked and never looked back… I loved every aspect of twirling from the dancing performing aspect to the endless number of training sessions.. I had a sense of belonging, I was part of a team… girls to laugh and cry with and to share the ups and downs… We started with carnivals/displays then progressed to regional and national competitions.

My major achievement was when I competed for the BBTSA England squad for the European Cup of Clubs, held in France in 1989 alongside fellow trainer Terrie Farrell..What an unforgettable experience!

Sadly at the age of 19 I hung up my twirling shoes and decided that I needed a social life but I always missed the twirling years…

It wasn’t until 2002 that I re-entered the twirling arena once again, to assistant train Totality Twirlers and did so until 2007 when I left to have my own little girl…and after being out of twirling for the last two years I decided it was time for me to add to start a venture of my own. This is why I have joined forces with Tracie & Terrie who I’m sure will help towards making this new team a twirling success…

A NEW ADVENTURE

Hello and welcome to a new venture starting in Plymouth. We are a new baton twirling troupe (sometimes referred to as majorettes) based in the Woolwell area of the City. Although we are a new troupe, our trainers are all very experienced ex-twirlers who have competed both nationally and internationally.

We are holding our initial enrollment evening on Tuesday 4th August between 6pm and 7.30pm at the Woolwell Community and Resource Centre (click here for map). Initial registration will cost just £1.50 with weekly subs payable of £2.50 plus 50p for refreshments.

Please look to the right hand panel for a link to our full brochure, more information and contact details but check back regularly for more news as we grow. If you are on facebook, please visit our group page here.

HAPPY TWIRLING!
